Making a sober app that doesn't suck

I tried 10 sober apps and it pissed me off. So i built one that I'd use, if i was an alcoholic :)

Most sobriety apps feel like they were designed by someone who thinks shame is a feature. Streaks everywhere. Badges everywhere. A tiny productivity costume on top of a very human problem.

This one starts from a different place: what would help at 11:47 pm when the day has gone sideways? Less dashboard, more handrail. Less performance, more getting through the next ten minutes.

01

a relapse screen should not feel like a parking fine

The product has to remember what happened without making the person feel like the whole story collapsed.

02

progress can be gentle without becoming vague

Body metrics carry the argument better than moral messaging. Show the cost clearly, then let the person keep moving.
